Rasmus Hojlund gives perfect response when quizzed about how Ruben Amorim wants him to play
Manchester United made it five European games unbeaten on Thursday with a 3-2 win over Bodo/Glimt.
Ruben Amorim’s debut appearance as head coach at Old Trafford was far from smooth going as it took a comeback to claim all three points in the Europa League.
It was another fast start for Manchester United, with Alejandro Garnacho scoring inside a minute to put the Red Devils ahead.
After this, similarly to against Ipswich, United conceded with an excellent solo strike. Bodo/Glimt then added a second minutes later.
United have made a habit of doing things the hard way and this was the case again on Thursday as it took a Rasmus Hojlund brace to see the Red Devils come from behind to win 3-2.
After the game, United’s No.9 was quizzed by the media about the new United system.
Rasmus Hojlund gives thoughts on Ruben Amorim’s 3-4-3
Hojlund was the star of the show against Bodo, with his two goals and an assist helping United rise to ninth in the Europa League table.
Following the game, Hojlund was drafted by TNT Sports to be interviewed and he was asked about the new system Amorim has been implementing.
“It will obviously take time. But already you can see some patterns of play and it’s getting better”, Hojlund claimed in his interview.
Later in the interview, Hojlund admitted that he is a fan of the system and 3-4-3 as a formation.
“For me, the system reminds me of how I played in Atalanta with a 3-4-3. It suits me very well.”
Hojlund sent Amorim a message for Manchester United
In preparation for facing Bodo, Amorim set a challenge for United’s forwards and one day later, Hojlund happily obliged.
Hojlund’s two goals were pure striker goals which will give Amorim faith that the Dane has what it takes to lead the line.
These goals took Hojlund’s tally this season to four, but he also demonstrated his ability on the ball as he made 29 touches.
Hojlund created two chances, including the Garnacho goal which he created with relentless pressing from minute number one.
