In Cameroon, a new tension seems to be emerging within the Indomitable Lions, with rumors of the sidelining of Samuel Eto'o, the former football star and current president of the Cameroon Football Federation ( Fecafoot), from the selection locker rooms.

According to several media, including Sport News AfricaBelgian coach Marc Brys would have formally prohibited Samuel Eto'o's access to the Indomitable Lions locker room.

In an interview given to New York Timesthe successor of Rigobert Song revealed a new clause that he had demanded in his contract. This clause stipulates that no official, including the president of Fecafoot, can enter the players' locker rooms. “In the past, people came into the locker room, so I blocked that in my contract… It's my home, the players' home, a place where they should feel safe and be able to speak freely. It’s a much better environment,” explained Marc Brys.

Before his arrival, Samuel Eto'o had free access to the locker rooms, a practice which, according to the new coach, is no longer acceptable. This decision comes against a backdrop of tense relations between Marc Brys and Fecafoot, particularly after a period of protest linked to his appointment. The Cameroonian federation claimed not to have been consulted during the recruitment of the Belgian coach and opposed his taking office.
