Manchester United take on Leicester City in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night with Ruud van Nistelrooy taking charge in place of the sacked Erik ten Hag.

Ruud van Nistelrooy will take charge of his first – and likely only – Manchester United match and he has the task of guiding the club into the Carabao Cup quarter-finals.

Erik ten Hag was relieved of his duties on Monday morning after the controversial defeat to West Ham on Sunday, with the club sitting down in 14th in the Premier League table.

United are closing in on appointing Ruben Amorim as their new manager but remain in negotiations with Sporting over a compensation package for him and his staff.

Will Van Nistelrooy line the side up in a 3-4-3 in anticipation of Amorim’s arrival? Will the legendary striker improve the mood by masterminding a victory? Stay tuned to find out.
