The new era at Manchester United is inching closer as the situation of Ruben Amorim’s potential move to Man Utd develops quickly.

Just 24 hours ago, there was no expectation that Erik ten Hag would be sacked anytime soon, fast forward to October 29, not only has that happened, but the new man-up is already in place.

Ruben Amorim has ‘verbally agreed’ to become the next Man Utd manager with only the compensation to be decided between the clubs.

It is a huge blow for Sporting to lose a manager who has won multiple league titles with them and currently sits top of the table with a faultless record after nine games.

Understandably, Sporting are putting up a hard fight to keep hold of their main man but recent reports suggest Amorim won’t relent.

Ruben Amorim pushing for Man Utd move

The news of United working on a deal for Amorim came out of the blue because he was an outside candidate at best when Ten Hag was sacked.

That is because he was reticent about leaving Sporting in the middle of the season but a meeting with Sir Dave Brailsford seems to have turned his head.

United identified their top choice and went hammer and tongs for him in a repeat of what Ineos did in the summer transfer window.

The Telegraph reports that Amorim’s head has been completely turned and he is now actively ‘pushing’ to leave Sporting Lisbon soon.

As a result, the Portuguese club are now ‘resigned’ to losing him sooner rather than later in what comes as a huge boost to Man Utd.

Amorim has made it clear that he wants to leave Sporting in no uncertain terms and that should hopefully accelerate the pace at which the deal is moving.

It was believed that compensation was the only hurdle to this move and United want Amorim to start immediately so with his latest step, that should happen now.

Man Utd’s pulling power

No matter how many times it is questioned or how massively they’re struggling, Manchester United’s pulling power keeps giving new examples.

Amorim’s move is right alongside Leny Yoro’s transfer in the summer when he rejected Real Madrid’s advances to move to Old Trafford.

In Amorim’s case, he looked Man City-bound, especially after Sporting’s technical director Hugo Viana, his close ally, is set to move to City.

However, United turned his head to such an extent that not only is leaving Sporting but is determined to do so immediately in a U-turn over his previous stance.

The chance to revive a fallen giant, like he did at Sporting, just on a much more massive scale, is clearly too good to pass up.

Portuguese media made a similar comparison while reacting to Amorim’s move and the man himself has been charmed by the club’s pulling power.
