Renard, Vieira, Beye… 5 candidates for after Aliou Cissé!
There Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) is now looking for a new coach after parting ways withAliou Cisseafter nine years of good and loyal service. Pope Thiaw will temporarily occupy this position for the two confrontations of the Senegal against the Malawi as part of the playoffs of the CAN 2025. However, the FSF ultimately aims to recruit a coach of greater stature.
The writing of Football Africa invites you to shed light on the five candidates potential to succeed the former boss of La Tanière:
1) Habib Beye
Free since his departure from Red Starwhich he led in Ligue 2, the former Senegalese international was approached by the FSF. However, according to L'Équipe, Beye would have other plans for his career and would not be interested.
The succession of Aliou Cissé, at the head of Senegal since 2015 and dismissed at the beginning of the month, whets appetites. If the leaders wish to appoint a Senegalese to replace him, Hervé Renard, currently free and who lives in the country, is not out of the running… pic.twitter.com/PgtHDwxY0E

2) Hervé Renard
Highly appreciated by the supporters, Hervé Renard is an option that raises a lot of hope. However, for political reasons, the FSF would favor a Senegalese or non-European coach. Foxwith his two titles at the CANhas strong ties to Senegal, where he lives with his family, which leaves the door open to a possible exception.
3) Patrick Vieira
Free since his departure from StrasbourgVieira, who has dual French-Senegalese nationality, has extensive experience with nearly 300 matches as a coach. However, his mixed results could cool Senegalese leaders, despite his impressive CV.

5) Pope Thiaw
Deputy of Cissé and winner of CHAN 2022, Thiaw is the natural heir to the position. He will lead the Lions in the upcoming matches against Malawi, and if he performs well, could be confirmed in his long-term role.
Between the quest for legitimacy and the need to seduce, Pape Thiaw finds himself in a delicate position. His next two meetings will be an opportunity to convince the skeptics or prove them right. Either way, the national team must win. pic.twitter.com/p16yr9WtSK
