As Paul Pogba nears a contract termination with Juventus, speculation linking him with Olympique Marseille has quickly emerged.

However, to date, no contact has been established between the French midfielder and the Marseille club. The player, who could return to competition next March after the reduction of his suspension for violation of anti-doping rules, remains waiting.

It was Patrice Evra who, during his first intervention in Rothen ignites on RMC, launched the idea of a transfer of Pogba to OM by declaring: “He wants to play football, wherever it is, for example why not OM? I'm going to call Mehdi Benatia and tell him that the door is open. » This statement fueled rumors, especially in the context of the probable separation between Pogba and Juventus. However, nothing has yet materialized.

Pogba at OM: The bad news falls for the pickaxe!

No official contact has taken place between OM and Pogba until now. Mehdi Benatia, who advises President Pablo Longoria, knows Pogba well, although they only met briefly in Turin. The club could therefore consider this option, but the path remains distant. In addition, OM's squad is already well stocked in midfield, notably with the recent arrival of Adrien Rabiot.

Return to the field in March

The Court of Arbitration for Sport reduced Paul Pogba's suspension from four years to 18 months on appeal, following a positive test for testosterone in August 2023, during a match between Juventus and Udinese in which he had not participated. Pogba will be able to resume training from January 2025 and be back on the pitch from March.
