Francis Ngannou finally sets his retirement age!
Francis Ngannou is preparing to make his return to MMA on October 19, where he will face Brazilian Renan Ferreira for his first fight with the PFL.
The two heavyweights will fight for the title of world champion, and a trailer announcing this clash has already been released, calling it the “battle of the giants”.
In an interview with MMA Junkie, Ngannou discussed various topics, including his upcoming fight and his tensions with UFC President Dana White. Aged 38 since September 5, he was also asked about his retirement. Here is his response:
“I still have a few MMA fights to go, so it will obviously be more interesting to be the defender than the challenger. I want to return to boxing, that's for sure. I still have a few fights left in both sports. I would say I'll retire when I'm around 41, maybe 40. »
Francis Ngannou therefore seems to be considering an end of career between MMA and boxing. According to him, he has between two and three years left before he bows out, and he first wants to become champion so that he can retire by defending his MMA title. This ambition could come true if he manages to defeat Renan Ferreira in his return to the cage. Additionally, Ngannou has expressed his desire to continue boxing alongside his PFL contract, hoping to face opponents such as Deontay Wilder.
Do you think Francis Ngannou will be able to continue his career until the age of 41?
