Manchester United have been struck by another injury crisis it seems with the pressure already at extreme levels under Erik ten Hag.

Erik ten Hag’s future is coming under increasing scrutiny with Manchester United drawing 0-0 against Aston Villa at Villa Park before the beginning of the international break.

Kobbie Mainoo and Noussair Mazraoui both suffered injury problems as did United centre-back Harry Maguire, who had to be helped off against Villa.

Alejandro Garnacho has also returned to United after suffering a knee problem whilst Amad Diallo has also withdrawn from international duty with Ivory Coast. Here are all the players who are currently on international duty.

Bayindir will be hoping to get some game time for Turkey to try and impress Ten Hag with games against Montenegro and Iceland.

The full-back has been called up for national duty with games against Poland and Scotland coming up, with the defender potentially facing up against former United midfielder Scott McTominay.

James Scanlon

18-year-old James Scanlon, who represents Gibraltar at a national team level, will be the youngest player away on national duty for the Red Devils.

Scanlon recently netted four goals for United’s under-18s so there is little surprise the talented teenager has been selected and will surely be selected to start for his country.

Paul Scholes had labelled Christian Eriksen as ‘really solid’ against Villa and it is a brilliant renaissance into form from the Danish midfielder.

After appearing to be surplus to requirements in the summer, Eriksen has worked his way back into the first team fold and has been called up to the Danish national team.

Manuel Ugarte

Despite struggling so far at Old Trafford, Manuel Ugarte has been called up for Uruguay but the midfielder could be played in a new position under Marcelo Bielsa.

Ugarte could line up at centre-back for the South American side but that is a position that he is unlikely to feature at for the Red Devils.

There is little surprise to see Bruno Fernandes called up to the Portuguese national team, despite his performances for United not being the best during the current campaign.

Fernandes was sent off against Porto last week and this campaign has been a frustrating one for the United captain but he is hoping to put that behind him during the couple of weeks away from Old Trafford.

Rasmus Hojlund

Rasmus Hojlund was criticised by Scholes as a player who has not reached his full potential yet but the Dane looks to be the first-choice striker.

Hojlund netted during United’s 3-3 draw against FC Porto and he will be hoping to build up his confidence, and indeed his fitness, for the national team.

Joshua Zirkzee

Joshua Zirkzee has netted just one goal for United since the Dutch striker’s £34 million move to Old Trafford from Bologna.

The Dutchman has struggled to really make an impact in England and has now been replaced by Hojlund who looks set to be the first choice option for Ten Hag moving forward, but Zirkzee has a chance to win his place back on international duty.
