FIFA imposes a huge suspension on him
Since his accession to the presidency of the Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT), Samuel Eto'o has experienced several setbacks.
After his disagreements with the political authorities of his country, the former FC Barcelona and Inter Milan striker now faces a severe sanction imposed by FIFA due to behavior deemed inappropriate.
“The FIFA Disciplinary Committee has imposed a ban on the president of FECAFOOT, Samuel Eto'o, from attending matches of Cameroon's representative teams for a period of six months. This decision results from the violation of articles 13 (Offensive behavior and violation of the principles of fair play) and 14 (Incorrectness of players and officials) of the FIFA Disciplinary Code.
The sanction is linked to an incident that occurred during the round of 16 of the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup™, which pitted Brazil against Cameroon in Bogotá (Colombia) on September 11, 2024. This ban prevents Mr. Eto 'o attend any football match, men's or women's, involving teams representing FECAFOOT, whatever the age category. The decision was officially notified to Mr. Eto'o today, marking the start of the application of the sanction,” we can read on the FIFA website.
