Terrible humiliation for Onana and Manchester United against Tottenham
The Stations of the Cross continue for Manchester United in the Premier League. At home against Tottenham Spurs this Sunday, as part of the sixth day of the championship, André Onana's team saw nothing but fire with a heavy defeat (3-0).
Nothing is going well for the Ten Hag team at the start of the season. After two defeats, two victories and a draw since the start of this new sporting season, Manchester United collapsed for the third time in six games. At Old Trafford, this Sunday, against Ange Postecoglou's team, the Mancunians will quickly concede Brennan Johnson's opener in the 3rd minute. Picked cold, André Onana's teammates will try to get up, in vain.
Frustrated, the Ten Hag players will multiply unnecessary fouls, including a crude one from Bruno Fernandes in the 42nd minute. Without thinking, the referee of the game will exclude the captain of the Mancuniens and complicate the task for Manchester United. At the start of the second part, Tottenham will double the lead with Dejan Kulusevski in the 47th minute.
Calmly, the Spurs will manage their advantage. Despite the attempts of Garnacho and Rashford, the score will not improve for the Mancunians. Despite Onana, who blocked several clear goal actions, the third goal finally arrived in the 77th minute with a goal from Dominic Solanke.
For the Mancunians, it is another defeat which hurts. Without any goals scored this Sunday, United sees Tottenham and Liverpool score more goals than them at Old Trafford this season. Note that with this defeat, the Ten Hag team remains twelfth with 7 points, while the Spurs move up to eighth place in the standings with 10 points.
