Mbappé at the heart of a new scandal!

Alavés defender Abdel Abqar was substituted at half-time during his side's clash with Real Madrid after he was spotted swapping shirts with Kylian Mbappe.

Real Madrid took an early lead in the midweek La Liga match, thanks to a goal from Lucas Vázquez. Mbappé then doubled the lead in the 40th minute. On returning to the locker room at half-time, Abqar was seen retrieving the French forward's jersey.

According to some sources, this act was not well received by coach Luis García, who chose to replace Abqar with Jon Guridi for the second half. However, three minutes after the restart, Rodrygo made it 3-0 in favor of Real Madrid. Despite a late reaction from Alavés with two goals at the end of the match, the final score remained 3-2 in favor of the Madrilenians.

“A tactical decision”

The Alavés coach, however, denied that the shirt swap was the reason for Abqar's substitution, saying: “I don't know what he did. I needed to change something for tactical reasons.”

Real Madrid remain unbeaten in La Liga, although they are still behind FC Barcelona at the top of the table. The Merengues will face Atlético Madrid again next Sunday.
