PSG sports advisor Luis Campos recently praised FC Barcelona's young talent Lamine Yamal, calling him an “excellent footballer”.

Yamal is on everyone's lips after impressing with Spain at Euro 2024, which they won.

Even before his impressive performance in Germany, there were already rumours of PSG's interest in the winger, with some reports claiming the Parisian club would be willing to pay €250m (£211m) for his services. Barcelona are also starting to worry about losing control over their young prodigy's future.

The Spaniard wouldn’t be the first talent to leave Catalonia for Paris, with Neymar having completed a sensational move in 2017 for a record fee. The future looks bright for Yamal, and Barcelona will have to do everything they can to keep him. Campos’ comments suggest that PSG will be keeping a close eye on his situation in the coming years. In an interview with AS, the sports advisor said: “If all the players whose names the press have linked to PSG were here, we would have five stars in each position. We only need two. I really like Lamine Yamal, but also Dembélé, Barcola, Kang In-Lee, Marco Asensio and Goncalo Ramos… They are all fantastic players with immense talent. PSG are very happy with the players they have in these positions. To say that Lamine Yamal is not a great player would be a big mistake. He is an excellent footballer, and I am delighted to see him playing at such a level.”

Speculation over a potential transfer is likely to continue to fuel conversations. For now, Yamal is focused on his club, helping current La Liga leaders Barcelona continue their excellent start to the season with an upcoming game against Girona on Sunday.
