“Griezmann is not normal because…”
Thierry Henry, former coach of the French Espoirs team, spoke with admiration about the brilliant career of his compatriot Antoine Griezmann.
The iconic former Arsenal striker particularly praised the exceptional career of the Atlético Madrid forward.
Henry was impressed by Griezmann's versatility, adaptability and longevity, qualities that he believes set him apart. He also didn't hesitate to say that the former Barcelona and Real Sociedad player was no ordinary footballer at 33.
“What Antoine has achieved in football is indisputable. What he has done for France, for Atlético Madrid… We all know that he went to Barcelona, that it didn't work out, then he came back to Atlético.
What he has achieved is simply incredible. He is not a 33-year-old like the others. He has played almost every game since he was 19.
And when you look at Atletico Madrid's style of play, it's extremely demanding, especially under Simeone, who demands total commitment week in, week out.
Griezmann has played in different positions: isolated striker, behind Diego Costa, on the wings, on the right or left, and sometimes in support of another striker.
“What is remarkable is his ability to play everywhere and to adapt. For me, he remains an essential player,” Henry said of Griezmann.
