On July 14, 2022, Paul Pogba had just signed for Juventus, six days earlier. At the time, he was at the training center, taking part in a session in preparation for the return of Serie A scheduled for a few weeks later. This event is a key element in the investigation into the kidnapping and extortion of the former star of the Blues. According to the judicial information obtained, ” a group of people ” showed up at the entrance to Juventus' training ground that day.

During the investigation, the study of telephone data allowed investigators to make important discoveries. Five numbers were located at the entrance to the Fréjus tunnel in Modane on the morning of July 14. These phones were then detected in Italy before returning to the same location on the night of July 15. All of these phones belong to individuals involved in the case, including that of Mathias Pogba.

In Italy, with a car of Paul Pogba

Arriving in Italy in one of Paul Pogba's Mercedes, the group then used an Audi to go to the Juventus training center. Mathias Pogba was in this vehicle with another person. Refusing to comply with the administrative formalities, the two men asked to see Paul Pogba and to complete the registration form. Finally, the vehicle was directed to a ” waiting area » of the club.

Security guards had spotted two individuals in the car, but a third also got out. “Informed of the presence of these visitors, the player refused to meet them,” according to the case file. For nearly three hours, the group remained there, sending several messages to Paul Pogba. The first came from Mathias Pogba, who wrote: ” Crazy, I'm at the entrance of the center, I'm waiting for you here. » To this, Paul Pogba responded with a simple question mark. Mathias insisted: « We need to talk urgently. » The French international then replied: « Why? I'm in the center, I can't. »

Mathias Pogba persisted: ” I know, I'm in front, I'm waiting for you here. » Paul replied: « But what is it? His brother replied: “ When you see me, I'll tell you face to face, I can't write this. » Paul Pogba then asked who was accompanying his brother to the centre. Mathias then said: ” I'm with Rouge, it's crazy, the whole family is in danger! So come on, we're waiting for you here, we're not moving. » To this, Paul Pogba simply replied: « I knew. »

This was followed by voice messages from what Mathias identified as ” Red » : « Hey Paul, you see, it's Roush, I came for you. Wallah wallah wallah, you know very well what you did! Wallah I'm not moving from here, you put everyone in trouble with what you did ! » Then a second message: « Listen to me, it's simple, you'll find a way out, by Allah I'm not moving from here. While you're living your quiet little life, hiding and playing the mouse, we're here, all exposed, me, your brothers, everyone, because of what you did. Wallah, I don't think you realize that. By Allah, I'm not moving until it's settled!”

The message continued: “ Hey Paul, I know you're a thoughtful person, wallah… we need to find a solution, better put out the fire while we still can, because by Allah, I don't think you realize what's happening!”

Court orders trial for six of Paul Pogba's associates

After these two voice messages, another protagonist in the case also sent two text messages to Paul Pogba: ” Stop messing around and answer“, followed by ” Wallah what you are doing is serious, behave like a man and answer“That day, Paul Pogba ultimately did not meet his brother Mathias or the other people involved.

In this case, three childhood friends and two former acquaintances from the Roissy-en-Brie district (Seine-et-Marne), where the Pogba brothers grew up, will be tried for extortion, kidnapping and criminal conspiracy. One of the accused is currently in pre-trial detention. As for Mathias Pogba, he will appear for attempted extortion and criminal conspiracy.
