Shea Lacey sends exciting message about Man Utd return, Chido Obi responds
Manchester United wonderkid Shea Lacey is among the best at the club, but injuries have hindered him recently.
At just 17 Shea Lacey is a name many Manchester United fans have been raving about for years.
The Liverpool-born winger possesses a style of play which has drawn comparison to Phil Foden and the sky really is the limit for him – ranked among the very best at Carrington.
His fellow wonderkid Harry Amass has tipped Lacey for success in 2024/25, and if he stays fit we imagine it will come. But now he has suggested he is finally ready for a return to United action, with Erik ten Hag well aware of his talent.
Shea Lacey sends a message
Lacey is yet to feature this season for the United Academy, still recovering from injury setbacks last season.
But now, he has sent a message on Instagram which seems to hint that his return to the pitch is not far off as he wrote: “24/25”, followed by a sand-timer emoji which had reached zero.
Under his post, several big academy names were in the replies.
This included the new academy striker for United, Chido Obi-Martin who commented a fire emoji for his new teammate – once the deal is confirmed.
Amass also commented, writing: “Your time”, followed by a heart emoji, which is a similar message to what he sent before, although the message is just as true now.
Tyler Fletcher commented: “Wonderkid”, which is an absolute spot description of Lacey.
Several others also commented such as Jack Fletcher, Gabriele Biancheri and Finley McAllister with emojis ranging from hearts to fire emojis.
A Manchester United debut could happen in 2024/25
Lacey has long been a player considered a potential player to follow in the footsteps of Kobbie Mainoo, now this season could be when he actually makes the step.
The boundless potential Lacey possesses however is only one factor, with his fitness being a real deciding factor.
If Lacey is fit, he could very quickly be knocking on the first-team door, but he needs to stay fit and focus on keeping himself in contention this season before targeting a senior debut.
But we now cannot wait until he is back playing, perhaps this could come this weekend, with both the U18s and U21s in action.
Lacey could be set for a barnstorming campaign.
