Carlo Ancelotti reveals the player who can replace Kroos and Nacho

A few months after the departures of the German Toni Kroos and the Spaniard Nacho, Carlo Ancelotti seems to have found their replacements.

Although these two players have marked their time at Real Madrid with their influence on the pitch and in the locker room, it is now a young talent who is preparing to take over.

Federico Valverde, nicknamed “Fédé”, is considered by coach Ancelotti as the ideal candidate to succeed the two former executives. During the pre-match press conference against Las Palmas, this Wednesday, August 28, 2024, the White House technician spoke about the qualities of the Uruguayan midfielder.

“He is progressing with each game and is gaining importance in the team. He is starting to assert himself as a leader in the dressing room, which is natural. He has learned alongside great professionals and must now fill the place left by Kroos, Casemiro and Nacho,” he told the press.

Ancelotti added: “It is essential to maintain a calm, serious and motivated atmosphere within the team. The departures must be filled in the best possible way, and Valverde is the perfect example of this.”

As a reminder, Valverde stood out in Real Madrid's victory against Atalanta in the European Super Cup, scoring the opening goal. He also found the back of the net on matchday two of La Liga 2024-2025, in the 3-0 victory against Valladolid.
