Discover the 17 host cities and 94 preparation sites in Morocco
The 2030 World Cup, scheduled to be hosted in Morocco, Spain and Portugal, is shaping up to be a historic event. Preparations are moving forward apace, with host cities and base camps announced.
According to the latest information from the bid file submitted to FIFA, six of the 17 host cities will be in Morocco: Rabat, Casablanca, Agadir, Marrakech, Fez, and Tangier. These cities will host the matches of this prestigious competition (potentially the final, subject to tough competition with Spain), offering modern infrastructure and an unforgettable atmosphere for football fans from all over the world.
In addition, 94 sites have been selected across the three countries (33 in Morocco, 16 in Portugal, and 45 in Spain) to ensure optimal preparation of the teams, with many of them located outside the host cities.
A particular point of interest concerns the referees' base camp, currently being contested between Morocco and Spain. “Both sites are equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and offer a comfortable environment designed for football. In addition, the cities proposed to host the referees have major airports, thus facilitating travel to the match sites,” states the application file. So watch this space!
