Endrick reveals his jersey number for Real Madrid
Endrick has finally chosen his number at Real Madrid. Almost 590 days after announcing his signing, the young Brazilian, who will be presented today at the Santiago Bernabéu, has opted for number 16.
Endrick will wear the number 16 at Real Madrid. This number is not unfamiliar to the former Palmeiras player, who has already worn it in the past. However, the situation could change in the coming years. Initially, the club was considering giving him the prestigious number 9, now worn by Mbappé. However, if Modric were to leave Real Madrid by the 2025-26 season, Mbappé could then inherit the number 10, allowing Endrick to take the number 9.
At just 18 years old and with a professional career still in its infancy, Endrick has yet to have the opportunity to wear many numbers. He began his career with the same number he would wear at Real Madrid: 16. On October 7, 2022, at the age of 16, he made his first-team debut for Palmeiras in a 4-0 win over Coritiba.
Endrick has also worn the number 21, notably in his first match for the Brazilian national team in November 2023, where he became the fourth youngest player to make his debut for the Canarinha, just behind Pelé. His first goals for Brazil, scored at Wembley against England and at the Bernabéu against Spain, were scored with the number 21.
The number 9 has also marked his career, having been worn by Endrick during his debut in the youth teams, both with Palmeiras and with the Brazilian national team. Since the start of the 2023 season, and like the illustrious Ronaldo Nazário, Endrick wears the number 9 for Brazil, at just 18 years old.
