West Ham star Lucas Paqueta wants to join Man City as Hammers eye Cole Palmer loan
West Ham midfielder Lucas Paqueta wants to join Manchester City this summer, talkSPORT understands.
Pep Guardiola’s side are keen to add the Brazilian star to their ranks as they eye a fourth consecutive Premier League title.
Paqueta only joined West Ham last summer from Lyon and helped them towards Europa Conference League glory in June.
However, despite the Hammers’ reluctance to sell one of their prized assets, the 25-year-old wants to move to the Etihad Stadium.
talkSPORT’s Alex Crook said on White and Jordan: “He’s really keen on this move to City.
“Why wouldn’t he be? Treble winners, chance to go and play for Guardiola, I think it’s going to take a significant offer.”
Although they could lose one of their best players, West Ham are keen to sign City youngster Cole Palmer on loan for the season.
The 21-year-old enjoyed a stellar summer as he scored the winner for England in the Euro U21s Championship.
He also netted in the Community Shield against Arsenal on Sunday, although City eventually lost on penalties.
Palmer made 25 senior appearances for the club last season as they went on to secure the treble.
West Ham and City could now be set for more transfer business with each other this summer as the new Premier League season beckons.
The former are keen to spend the £105million they received from the sale of Declan Rice to Arsenal.
Maguire appears to be on his way, with a deal for Southampton’s James Ward-Prowse also agreed.
Paqueta could be City’s third signing of the summer after Mateo Kovacic and Josko Gvardiol.
